  • The International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD) a non-profit foundation that specialises in information and communication technologies (ICTs) as a tool for development. They assist various countries in Africa, Latin-America and the Caribbean to improve development within the fields of education, environment, good governance, health and livelihood opportunities. IICD brings knowledge, innovation and finance together with partners from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
  • The International Development and Research Centre (IDRC) a Canadian Crown corporation that works in close collaboration with researchers from the developing world in their search for the means to build healthier, more equitable, and more prosperous societies.
  • The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE), Ghana's first Advanced Information Technology Institute works to stimulate the growth of the ICT Sector in ECOWAS. Established in 2003, through a partnership between the Government of Ghana and the Government of India, this state-of the-art facility provides a dynamic environment for innovation, teaching and learning as well as practical research on the application of ICT4D in Africa.
  • The Centre for Information Technologies Research and Development, CITRED was established in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale, in July 2000.

Since it establishment, the organisation has witnessed tremendous growth in ICT businesses in the region; ICTs in schools, in organisations, ICT shops, computer training schools, Internet cafés etc.
